Photographer List
Pick 3 photographers off the list to explore further... There can not be any repeats in class
DO NOT DO THIS!
You are not replicating a photograph. You are to be inspired by the artists body of work.
Inspiration
Your artwork must be inspired by both the concepts of your photographer and techniques
Conceptual Connection:
Use your artists concepts within your own work.
For example: Mr. Hanson takes food photos, therefore I will take food photos is not a conceptual connection...
After doing more research... Mr. Hanson documents the process of cooking family recipes. He interviews his clients as they work. His work includes taking images of people as they cook their meals, product shots of the food with cooking utensils that have family history, taking photos for print publication. I could be inspired by his work by:
a. documenting a significant event
b. taking photos of people as they work at something they care about
c. Taking product shots of items that have significant family value
d. Taking photographs based on interviewing a person.
Sketchbook
Sketchbook Specs: Do in order
1. Address the background of a 2 page spread (10 points)
2. Title the page with your photographer (5 points)
- use the tracing technique to make it look more presentable
- use dafont.com or any other font website
3. Design a section for why your photographer is on this list? (20 points)
Why are they important? What did they offer to society? to the photographic world?
- Ask more questions as you go?
Example: Ansel Adams founded f64... a follow up question(s) should be: What is f64? Is that important to the photographers legacy? Why did create this? What impact did the club have on photography? society?
4. Include at least 6 images from your photographer (10 points)
5. Create 4 different thumbnails (all on different ideas). (10 points)
